New Blood Interactive and Saibot Studios have locked in the final details for Tenebris Somnia, with the 2D retro survival horror adventure set to launch on October 16, 2026. Alongside its release date, the teams have revealed the game’s final key art, pricing, age ratings and full platform lineup.
Tenebris Somnia will launch digitally for $24.99 USD, with a 20% launch-window discount bringing the price down to $19.99. Owners of FAITH: The Unholy Trinity will also receive an additional discount. New Blood Interactive is additionally promising aggressive regional pricing, particularly across Latin America, while aiming to keep console pricing as close as possible. Physical editions are available to pre-order through Lost In Cult, ranging from £29.99 to £59.99 GBP depending on the platform and edition.
The game will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series, while a demo is already available on Steam and Xbox Series.
At the heart of Tenebris Somnia is its unusual combination of retro 2D survival horror and live-action cinematics. Players will solve puzzles and fight disturbing creatures through the pixel-based game, while live-action sequences filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentina reveal another side of its story. The cinematics were created with real actors and practical effects, with filmmaker Andrés Borghi directing the game and its live-action material.
Borghi, who grew up playing games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil, describes Tenebris Somnia as a meeting point between his interest in filmmaking and classic survival horror. FAITH: The Unholy Trinity creator Mason “Airdorf” Smith is serving as executive producer, while Tobias Rusjan and the team at Saibot Studios are handling development. Clara Kovacic stars as the game’s lead actress.
New Blood has also emphasized that Tenebris Somnia was made with absolutely no generative AI. The game will support English, Spanish, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese at launch.
The horror adventure has received an M rating from the ESRB for Violence, Blood, Gore and Strong Language, while PEGI has rated it 18 in Europe.
With its final key art now revealed, Tenebris Somnia is set to bring its blend of pixelated survival horror and live-action filmmaking to PC and consoles on October 16. The demo is available now for players who want an early look at the nightmare before launch.
