Archetype Entertainment has announced that its upcoming sci-fi action RPG EXODUS will launch worldwide on April 7, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
The release date was revealed during gamescom Opening Night Live alongside a new cinematic gameplay trailer that introduces Salt, an Awakened octopus mercenary and bounty hunter who will join Jun on his journey as a companion.
The new trailer offers another look at EXODUS’s combat and its expansive science-fiction universe while highlighting Salt’s abilities on the battlefield. Piloting a specialised combat mech, Salt is an expert long-range sniper who can use quick evasive manoeuvres and ink-like smokescreens to confuse and disorient enemies.
Salt and Jun come from very different worlds, but the two eventually find themselves fighting side by side against a common enemy. Their partnership is built around more than simply surviving, with both characters fighting to protect the home they hope to return to.
Salt will not be the only companion fighting alongside Jun. Archetype Entertainment also revealed Emrys, a member of the enigmatic Deva, a Celestial species defined by its many consciousnesses.
Unlike Salt, Emrys takes on a support role during combat. Emrys can launch Remnant Orbs that drain and weaken enemies before transferring their stolen power back to Jun as a form of protection.
Archetype Entertainment has also announced EXODUS Wishlist Milestones as a way of thanking fans for their continued interest in the game ahead of launch. The game has already surpassed 500,000 wishlists, unlocking the first milestone and its rewards.
Players who participate in the milestone campaign can receive a Celestial Star Map Decoration for their in-game apartment, along with new concept art and the first EXODUS music track, “Elegy for a Forgotten World.”
Additional milestones will unlock more rewards as the game approaches release, including outfit cosmetics, a Salt Companion Story Cinematic, and additional music tracks.
With EXODUS now set to launch on April 7, 2027, players will have to wait a little longer before they can step into Archetype Entertainment’s new sci-fi universe and experience Jun’s journey for themselves.
