Extremely OK Games, the studio behind Celeste, has confirmed that its upcoming action-platforming adventure City of None is heading to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The announcement was made during Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase, giving players another look at the mysterious adventure ahead of its eventual release.

Previously announced for PC, City of None takes players to a crumbling metropolis filled with strange spirits, dangerous beasts, and ferocious robots. Players take on the role of a spirit inhabiting a wooden body, setting out to reclaim the city and its future from the grip of the ravenous Barons.

The adventure will combine platforming, puzzle-solving, and combat as players explore the city’s five distinct sectors. Each area features its own environments, gameplay styles, and four-color palette, while winding pathways and hidden items encourage players to explore beyond the main route. New abilities and equipment upgrades will also provide additional ways to navigate the city and overcome its challenges.

Combat is described as fast and intuitive, with players facing off against a variety of enemies while meeting both friendly and hostile inhabitants along the way. Rare resources can be collected to upgrade equipment, providing additional tools for the journey through the city’s interconnected areas.

With City of None, Extremely OK Games is moving beyond the studio’s previous work on Celeste while retaining an emphasis on platforming and carefully designed environments. The game’s distinctive pixel art and unusual setting also give it a different identity from the developer’s earlier projects.

City of None is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC in 2027. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
