Summer Games Fest is back and definitely continues to get bigger and better. Geoff Keighly, is a fantastic steward for games and is able to show off a selection of games that will excite the crowd. It’s a fantastic showcase for upcoming games and this year was no different.

They hit the ground running with Resident Evil Veronica. Why they changed the title from Code Veronica to Resident Evil Veronica is beyond me. But this remake looks stellar and it is out sometime next year.

Studio MDHR, the creators of Cuphead announced two games. There is in fact both a Cuphead sequel on the way and a new Cuphead game in a classic style. Both look amazingly charming, and it’s exciting more Cuphead is on the way.

Alien Isolation 2 is next with the titular Alien hunting humans once again. Looks like a very well made game, and if the first game is anything to base it on, should be terrifying. No release date was given but every console was shown.

Gen Atlas was the next game and it is the first game in 10 years from the creator of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.  Looks like another interesting adventure and we here are certainly curious about what it’ll be like. It may be an Epic games store exclusive but it comes to PS5 and Xbox as well.

Blood Message is Netease’s new game and looks to be exciting action game. It’s coming to consoles and PC but no release date was given.

Haex is a 1-4 persona survival game in the Nordic Wilderness. Aliens are attacking and it’s up to players to take them down while they gather supplies and uncover what is going on. It’s also important to manage hunger, thirst, and body temperature in the vicious wilds.

Stranger than Heaven the new RGG game has finally received its release date of January 15th 2027. With Snoop Dogg firmly in the game, they are also bringing in a surprising character. Tupac Shakur Joins the game series and with the help of his family’s group should bring his classic energy to the game.

Platinum Games has been synonymous with amazing action games like Bayonetta and Nier Automata. Now, they are getting to play with a new franchise, and it’s in the Last Ronin game. Telling the tale of Michaelangelo as the last remaining turtle, when it comes out should be stellar.

An Eggstremely Hard Game which comes out on July 24, 2026 is next. It’s a co-op party game for up to 4 players about ducks. These ducks must carry nests across platforms and solve puzzles, chaos will definitely ensue.

Crossfire is That’s No Moon’s debut game and looks to shake up the world of Cover Shooters. It looks like a fantastic first game and stars Claudia Doumit and Ricky Whittle. Coming to PS5, XBOX, and PC it should be fun.

Control Resonant which comes out September 24th of this year is the sequel to Control. While this was just a trailer it highlighted Dylan Faden’s journey through a troubled Manhattan. Jessie Faden is back too which is great for fans of Control.

Guild Wars 3 is bringing back the MMORPG to new fans with a beta coming next year. Looking to be an excellent new game sequel, fans can look forward to playing it’s beta on PC and PS5 next year.

Gundam Rogue Orbit is bringing Gundam battles to us all. With 3rd person battles, piloting a Gundam has never looked so cool. This fast paced action game will have players battling it out and it launches next year on PS5, XBOX, and PC.

Star Wars Pod Racer was a fantastic game and we are finally getting a sequel in Star Wars Galactic Racer. While yes the first game is fun and nostalgic this game takes all the joy and new technology to fine tune it into something special. Players can take down Sebulba when the game launches on October 6th!

Virtua Fighter is back and better than ever with Virtua Fighter Crossroads. This game highlights it’s interesting story and shows off some combat. Should be fun for fans of the series and launches next year.

RuneScape has always been a classic game, and on September 15th, RuneScape Dragonwilds is coming out of early access. This game takes place in a new land and offers plenty of fun for gamers alone and with friends. Looks like an evolution to the classic game.

1666 Amsterdam which has been in development by the former Assassin’s Creed Creator, it looks like a fun ride. Playing as a witch in Amsterdam in 1666, will be fun and frenetic. Players can cast spells, take out enemies, and send their familiars to explore. A 30 minute prologue is available now, and it launches in Early Access next year.

Saw has always been a terrifying series and Saw Genesis looks to showcase that. Following the Judge in the aftermath of World War 1, this precursor to Jigsaw will cause plenty of mayhem.  Players can sign up Bloober Team’s Alpha now.

Lords of the Fallen II is looking to be another fantastic ride. A grand sequel to a pretty righteous game, this will be out in Fall on console Epic Games Store, and Steam.

The Blood of the Dawnwalker is the next game and tells a terrifying tale. Coming out September 3rd, it follows Coen’s journey out of 14th Century Europe and to the lands far beyond. Looking like a fantastic Vampire adventure, and coming out quite soon.

Star Wars Zero Company is a single player tactical game coming out on August 27. Coming to PS5, XBOX, and PC, is looking like a stellar tactical experience. Even Anakin Skywalker makes an appearance which was a great moment in the trailer.

SEGA showed off the next steps for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds by revealing crossovers with Godzilla and Evangelion! Not only that, Sonic Pico Park was also announced as a collaboration with the hit indiegame.

Among Us showed off both it’s new show which is available to watch now, and a new game. This Spinoff called Among Us On Guard changes things up, and sets players up for more adventures with the wild crew.

Monster Hunter Wilds gets its new expansion with Ascendence. Players will soar into the skies above and take down master rank monsters when this launches in 2027. A Switch 2 version was also confirmed later in the day.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush which also launches September 24th, looks to be a fun racing adventure. Driving around a wide world, with different classic Hot Wheels should be fun for fans of all ages. Plus it’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as well as PS5, XBOX, and PC.

Attack on Titan 3,which is the final game in the series, follows the story from beginning to end. Looking to be the ultimate version, new details are set to drop July 1st. Koei Tecmo knows what they are doing and these games have been fun, so it’s exciting to see this on the way.

The Wolf Among Us is a classic Tell Tale Game and with a sequel on the way, fans are hyped. The Wolf Among Us 2 will launch next year but luckily fans can play Wolf Among Us Remastered this holiday.

Stellar Blade Blood Rain is the Sequel to Stellar Blade and definitely looks fun. With a new protagonist, players are sure to wonder what happened to to Eve, but the world is expanding and it looks like another stylish adventure.

Street Fighter 6’s Year Four is coming and bringing new characters. While Yasmine and Arjun is are new, Bosch is from the World Tour Mode. Though the best reveal was Tifa from FFVII and its remake. With a materia system, and adapted fighting style, Tifa will kick butt.

Finally the Summer Games Fest ends with the biggest reveal. Final Fantasy VII Revelation, is the final part of the trilogy. Telling a wide world expansive adventure, players will join Cloud and co alongside Vincent, Cid, and the Highwind. Coming Spring 2027, this trilogy is going to end with a bang.

The Summer Games Fest is a fantastic game showcase. Every year Keighly brings tons of reveals and amazing trailers. Already looking forward to next year’s showcase.
