Gaelco Sports Collection has been delayed from its previously announced October 2026 release date to January 21, 2027, giving QUByte Interactive and Bleem! additional time to polish the collection of five classic arcade games. The collection will launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The collection celebrates Spanish arcade developer Gaelco, which made its mark during the 1990s with a range of technically ambitious coin-op games. Its lineup brings together two isometric rally racers alongside three other arcade sports titles, revisiting an era when quick reflexes, precise controls, and chasing high scores were central to the experience.
Leading the collection are World Rally Championship (1993) and World Rally 2: Twin Racing (1995). The original challenges players to take a Toyota Celica GT-Four across tarmac, dirt, and snow while racing against a relentless 60-second countdown. Its sequel expands on the formula with additional circuits, selectable cars including the Toyota Celica, Subaru Impreza, and Ford Escort Cosworth, and head-to-head ghost car competition.
The remaining games offer a change of pace. Snowboard Championship (1997) features downhill racing, slalom gates, dramatic drops, and 360-degree loops, while Touch and Go (1995) brings fast-paced two-on-two beach volleyball to the collection. Rounding things out is Squash (1992), a reflex-driven racquet sports game featuring international competitors and dynamic court dives.
Preserving Gaelco’s arcade legacy is a notable part of the collection, with the company’s hardware encryption presenting challenges for emulation over the years. QUByte Interactive is using its proprietary QUByte Emulation Engine to bring all five games to modern platforms.
Although players will have to wait a little longer than originally planned, the extra development time is intended to give the collection additional polish before it arrives on January 21, 2027. Gaelco Sports Collection will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
