Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is making another trip across the cosmos, this time with a new edition designed specifically for Nintendo’s latest hardware. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition is officially available today on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the acclaimed action-adventure game to the platform with upgraded graphical options, additional control features, and exclusive content.

Developed by Eidos-Montréal in collaboration with Marvel Games, the Encore Edition introduces five exclusive outfits inspired by 1980s glam rock, giving Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot some new looks. These costumes are exclusive to this version of the game, providing another reason for returning players to revisit the Guardians’ cosmic adventure.

The Nintendo Switch 2 edition also takes advantage of the hardware with several graphical and performance options. Players using the console in TV mode can choose between Quality mode, which targets 1440p resolution at 30 frames per second, and Performance mode, which targets 1080p at 40 frames per second on compatible 120Hz televisions. Handheld mode targets 30 frames per second, offering a portable way to experience the adventure.

Additional control options have also been incorporated into this release. Nintendo Switch 2’s mouse functionality can be used for navigating menus and aiming, while gyroscope controls allow players to tilt their controller when guiding the Milano through space or navigating certain gameplay sequences involving Peter Quill. These additions give the Encore Edition a few extra ways to interact with the adventure beyond its graphical improvements.

The launch is also being accompanied by new music from the game’s fictional Star-Lord Band. The single “Encore,” performed by Steve Szczepkowski and Yohann Boudreault, the duo behind the in-game musical act, is now available through Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other digital music platforms.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition is available now on Nintendo Switch 2. Originally developed by Eidos-Montréal, the adventure follows the unlikely team of cosmic heroes as they travel across the galaxy, bringing together action, exploration, and a story built around the personalities and relationships of Marvel’s famous misfits.
