After spending considerable time in Early Access on PC, Ova Magica is finally preparing to bring its colourful blend of farming, creature collecting, and RPG adventures to consoles. Publisher Top Hat Studios and developer Skinny Frog have confirmed that the game will launch on November 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Originally launching in Early Access on Steam on July 23, 2024, Ova Magica received its full PC release on May 28, 2026. Its upcoming console debut will make the adventure available to a considerably wider audience, with all six console versions arriving simultaneously.

Set in the quaint town of Clover Town, Ova Magica combines farming and life-simulation mechanics with monster collecting and turn-based RPG-inspired combat. Players take care of their own farmstead while discovering mysterious creatures known as Blobs, which hatch from eggs and can become valuable companions both during battles and everyday farm activities.

These creatures come in numerous varieties, with different colours, appearances, and elemental affinities. Players can raise, train, and even crossbreed their Blobs to create increasingly powerful companions. Beyond fighting other trainers and wild creatures, Blobs can also contribute to farm maintenance, helping with activities such as watering crops as they develop their abilities.

There is considerably more to discover beyond the farming itself. Players can build relationships with Clover Town’s residents, pursue romantic interests, participate in fishing and bug-catching activities, craft new equipment, and explore mysterious dungeons and otherworldly dimensions. These expeditions offer opportunities to discover rare eggs, valuable resources, and legendary items, with procedurally generated dungeons and powerful creatures waiting to challenge players.

Combat also takes a different approach from traditional creature-collecting adventures, featuring an Active Time Battle system in which attacks and defensive actions can influence the flow of combat. Players will need to consider elemental advantages, manage their abilities, and develop their Blob companions carefully to overcome tougher opponents.

With its mixture of farming, creature breeding, exploration, and RPG mechanics, Ova Magica offers a considerably broader adventure than its colourful presentation might initially suggest. Console players won’t have to wait much longer to experience Clover Town for themselves, with the game arriving across PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo platforms on November 10.
