Bandai Namco is bringing its next major Gundam battle experience to PlayStation 5 and PC, with Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 officially announced during the Gundam Games 40th anniversary livestream. The free-to-play team combat game will introduce a new chapter for the series, combining large-scale Mobile Suit battles with infantry operations, an expanded roster, and cross-play support.

As the latest entry in the Battle Operation series, Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 will once again put players in the role of mercenaries fighting across the Gundam multiverse. Players will be able to pilot a variety of Mobile Suits across gritty, realistic battlefields, working alongside their teammates to secure victory. However, combat will extend beyond the cockpit, with players able to exit their machines and take part in infantry operations, including planting base bombs, requesting support fire, and securing important objectives.

The new entry will also expand the series’ roster by bringing together Mobile Suits from multiple Gundam universes. The game will launch with units from the Universal Century and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, with additional series planned for future updates. Among the announced additions are fan-favorite grunt units such as the BuCUE, giving players more options as the roster continues to grow.

Team combat is also receiving several refinements, including the introduction of SP Skills for every Mobile Suit. These abilities are designed to emphasize the unique identity of each unit, while a new User Interface and the Battle Assist feature aim to make combat more accessible. Battle Assist will help players perform complex maneuvers and combos, allowing them to focus more on positioning and coordinating with their teammates.

Bandai Namco is also promising visually detailed environments, avatar models, and high-definition Mobile Suit models, with the goal of delivering a more immersive battlefield experience. The balance between piloting a Mobile Suit and fighting on foot will remain central to the series, with players needing to master both approaches to gain an advantage.

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 3 is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, with cross-play available between the platforms. Bandai Namco has yet to announce a release date.
