M2 is bringing Devil Blade Reboot to consoles with Consumer Edition, a new version of the pixel-art shoot ’em up. Platforms and release date remain unannounced.

M2 is bringing the high-speed shoot ’em up Devil Blade Reboot beyond PC, with Devil Blade Reboot Consumer Edition now in development for consoles. The tentatively titled release was announced alongside a teaser trailer, although specific platforms and a release date have yet to be revealed.

Originally released for PC via Steam on May 23, 2024, Devil Blade Reboot reimagines the 1996 Devil Blade, a shoot ’em up created by Shigatake Games using Dezaemon Plus, a game creation tool for the original PlayStation. The reboot builds on the original’s vertically scrolling action with detailed pixel art and a Berserk System that rewards players for taking greater risks by attacking enemies at close range, increasing both the danger and their potential score.

With M2 now handling the console edition, players will have another opportunity to experience the revamped shoot ’em up beyond its existing PC release. However, with the announcement still in its early stages, it remains to be seen which consoles will receive the game and when it will be ready to launch.
