Joe Musashi’s latest battle for vengeance has arrived on another platform, as SEGA and Lizardcube have officially launched SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance on Nintendo Switch 2.
The 2D action platformer follows longtime SHINOBI protagonist Joe Musashi as he returns home from a previous adventure only to discover that his village has been burned to the ground and his clan has been turned to stone. With his home destroyed and his clan taken from him, Joe sets out on a journey of vengeance that takes him through a series of hand-drawn worlds filled with enemies, challenging encounters and larger-than-life bosses.
Built around fast-paced ninja combat, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance has Joe attacking and reacting on the move as he works his way through its stages. Multiple paths can also be discovered or unlocked, giving players more to uncover as they explore the game’s hand-drawn environments and take on its various challenges.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance starts at $29.99 USD. The game is also available in both digital and physical Deluxe Editions, with the latter featuring new cover art. The Deluxe Editions include the SEGA Villains Stage DLC, which has Joe facing off against Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, Goro Majima from Like a Dragon/Yakuza and Death Adder from Golden Axe. The DLC is also available on the game’s other platforms.
SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is additionally available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, giving players plenty of ways to experience Joe Musashi’s latest adventure.
For Nintendo Switch 2 owners, however, the latest version of Joe’s return is now officially available, adding another modern take on one of SEGA’s classic action franchises to the console’s growing library.
