TRAILMARK Games and AMC Global Media have revealed that Negan will be a playable character in The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, the upcoming beat ’em up based on AMC’s The Walking Dead. The announcement was made during the Future Games Show gamescom 2026 Showcase, giving fans a first look at the ruthless leader of the Saviors joining the playable roster.
Armed with his infamous barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat Lucille, Negan will bring his brutal fighting style to the game when The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival launches on September 18 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Inspired by the All-Out War storyline from The Walking Dead, the game follows Rick Grimes and his allies as they take on Negan, the Saviors and hordes of walkers in a single-player campaign. Players will be able to take control of familiar survivors including Rick, Daryl Dixon, Michonne and now Negan as they fight their way through locations drawn from the series, including the Sanctuary, Hilltop and Alexandria.
The game combines fast-paced beat ’em-up combat with retro-inspired pixel art, story-driven moments and large-scale set pieces. Players can mix melee combos with ranged attacks while battling both walkers and human enemies, with different characters offering their own movesets and fighting styles.
Along the way, players will also face a selection of recognizable bosses, including walkers such as Winslow and the Well Walker, alongside major threats including Simon, Negan and the Saviors. Battles feature multi-phase encounters designed to test players’ combat skills as they work their way through the campaign.
Beyond the main campaign, The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival will feature multiple difficulty levels and a replay-focused arcade challenge designed around mastering each character’s abilities. An optional Easy Mode will also be available for players looking for a more accessible experience.
Pre-orders for the Standard and Deluxe Editions are now available across all announced platforms, including Steam. Anyone who pre-orders either edition will receive the Golden Survival Pack at launch, which includes seven golden weapon skins.
A free demo of The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is also available now on Steam, giving players the chance to try out the beat ’em up ahead of its September release.
