Nicalis has announced that the critically acclaimed tactical strategy RPG Mewgenics will launch for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 8, 2026.
From the creators of The Binding of Isaac and The End is Nigh, Mewgenics puts players in charge of breeding, training and sending groups of cats into turn-based tactical battles. Cats that survive their adventures can be bred with others, allowing players to create new generations that inherit traits, abilities and even illnesses from their ancestors.
Players can also improve their cats’ living conditions by isolating specific cats and decorating their surroundings with items found throughout the game. These objects can affect a cat’s comfort, health and stimulation, giving players additional ways to influence their development.
Mutations can occur as well, with some providing unusual abilities while also introducing potentially troublesome handicaps. Managing these traits and creating increasingly capable generations of cats is a key part of Mewgenics‘ gameplay.
