Wild Blue Skies is now available on Nintendo Switch, giving fans of classic on-rails shooters another option to check out. Published by Balor Games and developed by Chuhai Labs and VITEI Backroom, the arcade flight-combat game is priced at $14.99 and takes inspiration from the genre’s 1990s heyday, including games like Star Fox.
Players take to the skies alongside Bowie Stray and the Blue Bombers, battling Grimclaw’s forces across oceans, desert landscapes, and dangerous caves. The campaign features waves of enemies, challenging boss encounters, and dogfights against a rival squad, with branching routes and secret missions offering reasons to explore different paths.
Wild Blue Skies combines straightforward controls with a score-based challenge system, aiming to make its arcade action accessible to newcomers while giving experienced players room to master its missions. Its colorful, anime-inspired art style also helps distinguish its world as players work to restore peace.
The game originally launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on August 13, with the Nintendo Switch version now expanding its availability to Nintendo’s handheld and home console platform. A launch trailer is available to showcase the Switch release.
Wild Blue Skies is available digitally on the Nintendo eShop for $14.99.
