Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL is putting a rather unusual spin on village-building when the ARPG from developer Team EARTH WARS and publisher One or Eight INC. arrives on Steam Early Access on November 12, 2026. Players will find themselves rebuilding a ruined world while dealing with the rather inconvenient fact that the Demon King lives right next door and likes throwing nightly parties.
The story begins after the player is reincarnated by a Goddess as a Bounder, a rare being capable of creation. Their new home, Luna, has been devastated by the Demon King and her monsters, leaving the player to turn whatever scraps remain into a thriving village. From there, players will rebuild the settlement, recruit allies, gather resources, and eventually take the fight directly to the Demon King.
A major part of the adventure comes from the Goddess’ power, which is represented through more than 20 hats that grant different classes. Players can become Farmers, Woodcutters, Warriors, Mages, and more, allowing them to switch roles depending on what the village needs. Recruited villagers can also be given hats to assign them jobs, with these characters capable of either working around town or joining the player on adventures as they develop into stronger allies.
Building up the village will require plenty of work outside of combat. Players can head out on scavenger hunts with their companions to gather wood by chopping down trees, hunt for food, and mine rocks for ore. Those resources can then be used to construct homes and prepare meals, gradually turning the ruined settlement into a proper community.
There is still plenty of fighting to be done, however, especially once Platinum, the idol Demon King next door, begins her nightly concerts. Her performances send monster hordes into a frenzy, forcing players to defend the village they’ve worked to build. Goddess Statues scattered throughout Luna can also provide powerful blessings, allowing players to stack bonuses affecting power, recovery speed, elemental effects, and other abilities before taking on the increasingly dangerous threats.
Team EARTH WARS says that the feedback gathered during Early Access will help shape the game’s full Version 1.0 release, which is currently planned for 2027. The finished version is expected to introduce a new story, additional lands to explore, and even more hats representing new job classes.
Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL will launch on Steam Early Access for $24.99 on November 12, with a 10% launch discount available through November 20. The game will support Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Players attending Tokyo Game Show 2026 will also be able to get hands-on with Warota at Hall 2, Booth 02-C12.
