Gaddy Games has announced Worlds of Fire and Water, a new DLC for the studio’s calming sci-fi terraforming sim Plan B: Terraform, alongside a free content update for all players. The announcement comes roughly a year after the game’s 1.0 launch.

The DLC introduces two new planets, each demanding a very different approach to terraforming. The Fire World is scorched by extreme heat, near-constant eruptions, and a total absence of minerals, forcing players to lean on new cooling tools just to get a foothold. The Water World flips the challenge entirely, submerging almost the entire surface and leaving only scattered islands to build on. Cooling the planet gradually grows the polar ice caps and lowers sea levels, slowly revealing more land to work with. Between the two, players will need to rethink their usual terraforming playbook to bring either world to life.

The accompanying free update reworks several of the game’s core systems and adds a wave of new tools:

  • A new Tech Tree replaces the existing level system
  • One-time upgrades boost container capacity for trucks, trains, and drones, or let depots float on water, while repeatable upgrades improve vehicle and drone speed and extraction efficiency
  • New vehicles round out the fleet, from early-game small ships to late-game airships
  • Dynamic polar ice caps and snow now shift with planetary conditions
  • Sea plants and plankton drift naturally along water currents
  • Water farms add a new source of food
  • Rockets can launch shades and mirror satellites, or bring in ice comets
  • Greenhouse gas neutralization plants tackle atmospheric cleanup
  • Long-range drone extractors and seabed extractors expand resource gathering

Plan B: Terraform is available now on PC via Steam ahead of the Worlds of Fire and Water DLC’s launch. Players can wishlist the DLC and join the Gaddy Games Discord for further updates.
