Tribute Games and Dotemu have unveiled an extended look at The Siege of Castle Doom, the upcoming DLC for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, showcasing a new game mode that puts players on a race against time to stop Doctor Doom. The footage offers a closer look at the expansion’s branching encounters, combat upgrades, and additional challenges, giving players a taste of what’s waiting inside one of Marvel’s most infamous strongholds.
Unlike the main adventure, The Siege of Castle Doom introduces a more challenging experience built around a constantly advancing Siege Gauge. Players will need to fight their way through Castle Doom, collecting Battery Cells and completing challenges to earn upgrades that improve their defensive capabilities, increase their damage output, or provide tactical advantages. With 12 different perks available, the upgrades players select and the routes they take through the castle can significantly influence how each run unfolds.
Time is also a major factor. As the Siege Gauge fills, the castle’s forces become increasingly powerful, putting additional pressure on players to reach Victor von Doom before he can activate the deadly Cosmic Inductor. Choosing the right upgrades and deciding which encounters to tackle will be just as important as mastering the game’s combat.
There will also be reasons to return after completing a run. Players can permanently unlock new equipment and events through Reed’s Lab, alongside additional modifiers that introduce greater challenges and the potential for better rewards on subsequent attempts.
Perhaps the biggest additions, however, are two new playable characters. The Invisible Woman and Doctor Doom himself will both join the roster as part of The Siege of Castle Doom, giving players even more options when taking on the expansion’s challenges.
Developed by Tribute Games (Scott Pilgrim EX, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge) and published by Dotemu (Absolum), MARVEL Cosmic Invasion has already attracted more than two million players. The Siege of Castle Doom arrives November 10 for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
