Shueisha Games has announced that JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON, its survivors royale collaboration with Vampire Survivors creator poncle, will no longer launch in 2026. The game has been pushed back to 2027, with the additional development time being used to further polish the experience.
The announcement arrives alongside a new trailer showcasing more of the game’s playable characters, bosses and combat, while Shueisha Games has also confirmed that the world’s first playtest will take place at Tokyo Game Show 2026 starting September 17.
JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON brings characters from JUJUTSU KAISEN into a pixel-art survivors royale inspired by poncle’s Vampire Survivors. Up to eight players can battle Cursed Spirits and each other, gathering strength throughout a match while attempting to outlast their competition.
The latest trailer offers a closer look at the playable characters featured in the Tokyo Game Show playtest, as well as the game’s eight pixel-art bosses. Alongside the previously revealed Naoya Zen’in and Kenjaku, the bosses include Junpei Yoshino, Jogo, Mahito, Uraume, Eso and Toji Fushiguro.
Players will also have access to the game’s “Unite Build” system, which puts a Jujutsu Kaisen spin on the character-building mechanics associated with the survivors genre. As characters level up, players can strengthen their chosen character’s abilities while incorporating techniques from other characters into their build, allowing them to create different combinations and fighting styles.
The Tokyo Game Show playtest will give visitors their first opportunity to try the online battle royale mode, where eight players compete for points while fighting Cursed Spirits and one another. The two players with the highest scores will then advance to a final showdown to determine the winner.
The version being shown at Tokyo Game Show is still undergoing development and balancing, with Shueisha Games also planning to collect feedback from players through a survey at the event.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 takes place at Makuhari Messe from September 17 through September 21, with business days running September 17-18 and public days taking place September 19-21.
While JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON has been delayed to 2027, Shueisha Games has not announced a more specific release date. More information on the game’s launch will be revealed at a later time.
