HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate is bringing its high-speed, Y2K-inspired snowboarding action to Nintendo Switch 2, with publisher Acclaim and developer Wabisabi Games confirming an early 2027 launch window. The game will also be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Recently featured in Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate draws inspiration from classic extreme sports games such as SSX and Cool Boarders. Players will race down eight courses, chaining together tricks across rails, ramps, and other obstacles while unlocking new characters and customizing their riders with different snowboards, jackets, boots, and headgear.
Three modes will be available, including Challenge, which tasks players with completing specific objectives, and Race, which pits them against other players or NPCs. Those looking for a more relaxed experience can also explore the slopes in Chill mode, an endless option focused on enjoying the scenery.
Multiplayer will support both local and online play, alongside online leaderboards for players looking to establish themselves as the best riders on the mountain. The game will feature four playable characters at launch, with eight additional characters unlocked through progression.
The soundtrack will feature music from Japanese chiptune band YMCK, Mexican electronic musician Trasto NueveVidas, and Yusuke Yamauchi, whose previous work includes music for the Tekken and Ace Combat series.
With its retro-futuristic aesthetic and emphasis on arcade-style tricks, HYPERyuki: Snowboard Syndicate looks to revisit the kind of extreme sports action that made games like SSX memorable. Players won’t have to wait much longer to see how it shapes up, with the game currently scheduled to launch across its announced platforms in early 2027.
