Harold Halibut is bringing its distinctive handmade aesthetic to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026. Developer Slow Bros. announced the upcoming release during IGN FanFest, giving Nintendo’s latest console another chance to dive into the acclaimed narrative adventure.

Originally released in spring 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Harold Halibut stands out for its unusual production process. Rather than relying entirely on digital assets, Slow Bros. crafted physical sets and puppets using traditional sculpting and modelmaking techniques, then scanned them into the game to create its distinctive stop-motion-inspired visual style.

Set aboard a city-sized spaceship stranded beneath the surface of an alien ocean, the game follows Harold as he navigates life among the vessel’s inhabitants while searching for a way forward. Along the way, he explores questions of friendship, belonging, and what it means to call somewhere home.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version will bring the adventure’s retrofuturistic world to Nintendo’s newest console, complete with more than 40 unique characters, fully voiced dialogue, and motion-captured animations. The game has also earned a Very Positive rating on Steam across more than 1,000 reviews.
