Wandering Wizard and Matrioshka Games have revealed a major visual overhaul for Gobby Gang, the upcoming multiplayer party game built around mischievous creatures, destructive environments, and physics-driven chaos. Alongside the new art direction, the latest trailer offers a closer look at the game’s creatures, customization options, weapons, tools, and the trouble players can get into while working together underground.
The new visual style gives Gobby Gang a more colorful identity, with players able to take control of creatures including dragons, raccoons, fish, mushrooms, and more. A wide range of customization options will also let players give their characters their own look.
Gobby Gang is a four-player co-op physics heist game in which goblins and other fantasy creatures rebel against their oppressors deep beneath the earth. Each run takes place during an underground “Shift,” with players tasked with transporting enormous and often unstable objects through hostile voxel caves.
Rather than simply navigating around obstacles, players in Gobby Gang have to deal with the objects themselves as part of the challenge. Teams will need to haul massive bombs, treasure orbs, and other unpredictable payloads across uneven terrain while digging, destroying, and carving their own routes through the environment.
The fully destructible caves are designed to make every run unpredictable, with physics and teamwork combining to create plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong. Explosives can go flying, tunnels can collapse, and players can end up crushed by the very paths they were attempting to create.
Matrioshka Games says the game has undergone significant changes since Gobby Gang was first revealed publicly in March 2026. According to the developer, the team rebuilt the game from the ground up, overhauling its art direction while expanding its treasure-hunting mechanics and adding new Critterz, items, unlockables, and progression systems.
The studio also says Gobby Gang is being developed by a team of no more than a dozen people at any given time. The goal is to offer an affordable game without sacrificing content or replayability, with players having additional items, discoveries, and unlockables to pursue as they return for more chaotic underground heists.
Gobby Gang is currently in development, with more details on its release expected at a later date.
