Frosthaven is preparing to leave Early Access behind, with Arc Games and Snapshot Games announcing that the tactical RPG will launch into version 1.0 on October 15, 2026. Alongside the news, the developers have released a new gameplay trailer showcasing what players can expect when the full experience arrives.

Currently available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store, Frosthaven brings the acclaimed tabletop game from Isaac Childres into the digital realm. The tactical, turn-based RPG can be played solo or with friends in online co-op, with players taking a party of heroes into the frozen northern frontier and the dangerous waters of the Biting Sea.

The story centers around an ancient and immensely powerful artifact that has begun sending visions of unrest. With the artifact once again calling out to be found, the heroes of Frosthaven must travel across and beneath the dark, icy waters of the Biting Sea to find it before it falls into the wrong hands.

The 1.0 release will complete the game’s campaign, including its climactic final chapter, while also bringing the full roster of 17 playable heroes to the digital adaptation. The final hero will join the game alongside the 1.0 launch.

Snapshot Games is also introducing several features designed to make Frosthaven more approachable and enjoyable for both newcomers and longtime fans. A new digital-only “Road to Frosthaven” introduction and tutorial will help players learn the game’s complex mechanics, while improved UI elements provide additional guidance. The Road to Frosthaven will also be available as a standalone demo for players who want to try the game before purchasing it.

Co-op is receiving multiplayer and networking improvements, while new House Rules will allow players to customize certain aspects of their experience. The 1.0 update will also add a new opening cinematic, dedicated videos for unlocking each hero, and a fully implemented Codex covering the game’s lore, characters, creatures, biomes, and more.

Based on the Frosthaven board game and serving as a spiritual successor to Gloomhaven, the video game adaptation combines its dark fantasy setting with challenging tactical combat and resource management. Each character class brings its own abilities and playstyle, requiring players to consider how their party works together while weighing risks and rewards throughout the campaign.

Frosthaven launches in version 1.0 on October 15, 2026, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It is currently available in Early Access.
