Dune: Awakening is bringing a little bit of Arrakis to Fortnite, giving players a chance to encounter sandworms, collect iconic weapons, and earn Dune-themed rewards across select Creator Islands.
Funcom has teamed up with the Power Up team at Meta4 Interactive to bring a special Dune: Awakening experience to Fortnite following the survival game’s recent console launch. The crossover is now available on select islands for a limited time, with the activities set to remain playable for the next several days before being reclaimed by the sands.
One of the featured locations is Crazy Red vs. Blue (island code 2898-7886-8847), where players will find a dedicated Dune: Awakening area offering several Arrakis-inspired gameplay mechanics. By entering a secret code, players can gain access to a Thumper capable of summoning Shai-Hulud. Once deployed, the sandworm can erupt from beneath the ground, eliminating players and destroying structures in its path.
Players can also get their hands on the Jabal Spitdart Rifle, one of Dune: Awakening’s recognizable weapons. Taking down opponents with the rifle causes them to disintegrate into a cloud of Spice, adding another bit of Arrakis flair to the Fortnite experience.
An elimination quest is also available, allowing players to progress through three tiers of Arrakis mastery. Each completed rank unlocks a Dune-themed item that can be worn on the Creator Island, including the Atreides Scout Hood, Atreides Scout Helmet, and Gurney Halleck’s Baliset.
The Dune: Awakening content is also appearing in Troll Bedwars (island code 9783-9810-3294), where the familiar lava areas have been transformed into sand, creating another potential home for Shai-Hulud.
Dune: Awakening launched on PC in June 2025 before arriving on consoles in September 2026. The console release added a new single-player mode, extensive gameplay customization, the conclusion to the Book One storyline, and more. The open-world survival game is inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune as well as Legendary Entertainment and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune film franchise.
