Capcom had plenty to show during today’s Nintendo Showcase, with three major franchises getting new details across Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. Monster Hunter Wilds is officially heading to Switch 2 this December, Mega Man: Dual Override introduced Proto Man as a second playable character, and three Resident Evil remakes are bringing their modern takes on survival horror to Nintendo’s new console this October.

Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, bringing the action RPG’s Forbidden Lands and its roster of massive monsters to the platform. Players will take on the role of a hunter working with the Expedition Team as they investigate the mysterious “White Wraith,” with 14 weapon types available for hunting, gathering and crafting.

The Switch 2 version will include all of the game’s previously released Title Update content, including the Grand Hub, returning monsters such as Lagiacrus and the Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration. Local wireless multiplayer will be supported alongside online multiplayer with full cross-play.

The Standard Edition will be available digitally for $39.99, while the Gold Edition will cost $79.99 and include the base game and cosmetic DLC. Digital pre-orders begin October 19, with the Standard Edition receiving an early adopter price of $29.99 through December 3. A physical Deluxe Edition will also be available for $39.99 and includes the Deluxe Pack cosmetics. Capcom also plans to release a free Prologue Demo ahead of launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds will not be the end of Capcom’s plans for the series on Switch 2, as the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion is currently planned for 2027.

Mega Man: Dual Override also received a new look during the presentation, with Capcom showing off the first gameplay footage of Proto Man. The iconic character will join Mega Man as a second playable hero, offering a very different approach to combat. While Mega Man focuses on ranged attacks, Proto Man specializes in close-quarters combat, though players will need to manage his heat gauge while using his abilities.

Both characters can also use the Override system to temporarily push their abilities beyond their normal limits. An all-new Custom Chip system will allow players to further customize Mega Man and Proto Man with upgrades designed around different playstyles.

Capcom also revealed new Mega Man and Proto Man amiibo figures, which are planned to launch alongside the game. More details about their functionality and release timing will be announced later.

Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled to launch in spring 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.

Finally, Capcom is bringing three of its Resident Evil remakes to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16. Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will all launch on the same day, with pre-orders and an early adopter discount already available.

The three games have been rebuilt with modern gameplay and Capcom’s RE ENGINE while retaining the core experiences of their respective original releases. The Deluxe and Gold Editions of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 also include additional content.

Resident Evil 2 follows Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they become caught in the outbreak that devastates Raccoon City. Resident Evil 3 shifts the focus to Jill Valentine and her attempt to survive the events surrounding the Raccoon City Incident, while Resident Evil 4 sees Leon, now working as a government agent, sent to rescue the president’s daughter from a remote village overrun by a mysterious cult.

With these releases, the major Resident Evil games will have a presence on Switch 2, including the recently released Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming Resident Evil Veronica.
