Zen Studios released the latest episode of Pinball Bites and a lot of news was contained within.
After discussing its new minigolf game, Zen then covered Pinball M, going over the game in general and some of the new modes and challenges, such as the shiver challenge that sees you play in darkness and the survivor challenge that sees you try and maintain your points as they gradually decrease.
Zen then went on to discuss some new tables coming to Pinball FX, starting with remasters of Epic Quest and Excalibur are coming to Pinball FX as the Charity Pack. Those purchasing in the Americas will have the proceeds of the sale go to Project Pinball Charity, while EU and ANZ players will be giving the money to the Budapest Pinball Museum to help preservation. The pack launches on December 7 on most consoles and PC, with Switch getting it later in the month. Next was the announcement of a new table based on the holiday classic A Charlie Brown Christmas, coming December 7 to consoles and PC, with Switch getting it later in the month, which was followed by the announcement of a new table based on the Board game Terraforming Mars, with the same launch times.
Zen then announced several updates for Pinball FX, including control remapping, so players can customize the controls to their liking, Quick Play, Local leaderboards for PC, and System Achievements, which will be expanded on in the future. Also announced were a new difficulty and a new physics option, to create more of a challenge for players and to accommodate different playstyles so players can play at their own pace. Nintendo Switch will be getting a physics update as well, to use the physics from Pinball FX3, which worked well on the system and is a good choice since the system struggles with Pinball FX’s physics engine, meaning players will now get to enjoy the new tables using a physics engine that the Switch can handle, and presumably Pinball M on Switch will use the Pinball FX3 physics as well.
More tables were announced as well, with three Star Trek tables coming on December 7th. These will be based on the new movies, Star Trek Discovery, and Star Trek Deep Space Nine respectively, and will share the same launch details as the other new tables. Lastly, Zen announced a new collaboration with AtGames to get Zen tables in the AtGames store and a new 4K pinball Machine based on Snoopy’s Pinball.
