Delivering a package is usually a fairly straightforward task. However, when the destination happens to be in the middle of a warzone filled with fighter squadrons, dragons, and giant mechs, things become considerably more complicated. That’s the unusual premise behind DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE, an upcoming aerial action roguelike from developer Yoyoyollie and publisher Top Hat Studios, which is getting a playable PC demo in January 2027.
Announced during the Top Hat Studios Presents: Fall Showcase 2026, the demo will give players an opportunity to experience the game’s combination of fast-paced flight combat, procedural environments, and style-based action. A new trailer accompanied the announcement, offering another look at its colourful cel-shaded presentation and chaotic aerial encounters.
Rather than taking a particularly conventional approach to flight combat, DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE draws inspiration from both Ace Combat and Devil May Cry. Players take control of the Courier, whose seemingly simple assignment involves transporting a package through increasingly dangerous territory. Naturally, completing the delivery means dealing with anything unfortunate enough to get in the way.
Combat is built around more than simply shooting down opposing aircraft. Players can weave between incoming attacks, perform evasive manoeuvres, drift through sharp turns, and even parry incoming threats. Performing these actions earns style points, with players encouraged to approach encounters with the same sort of flair associated with character-action games.
There will also be a variety of aircraft to unlock and upgrade, giving players additional options as they progress. Each run takes place across procedurally generated environments, with changing weather, cloud cover, terrain anomalies, and random events helping ensure that successive encounters aren’t always identical. The game features four distinct environmental zones, while its enemy roster stretches well beyond conventional fighter planes to include blimps, dragons, and mechs.
Failure is also part of the experience, although crashing doesn’t necessarily mean the end of a delivery. The Courier has access to warp technology that brings them back after a disastrous encounter, allowing the mission to continue despite the increasingly unreasonable number of obstacles standing between the player and their destination.
With its combination of aerial combat, roguelike progression, and arcade-inspired action, DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE is shaping up to be an unusual addition to the PC release calendar. The January 2027 demo should provide a better opportunity to see how its movement and combat mechanics come together, particularly for players interested in something that takes the spectacle of traditional flight action in a more exaggerated direction.
DELIVERY MUST COMPLETE is in development for PC via Steam, with its full release date yet to be announced.
