Rebel Wolves has released Update 1.1 for The Blood of Dawnwalker, delivering the dark fantasy action RPG’s first major post-launch update across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Alongside more than 1,100 improvements and fixes, the patch introduces several new features, including skill resets, an easier difficulty option, and the long-awaited ability to pet animals.
The update adds the Draught of Mind Rebirth, a new potion that allows players to reset their Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities and reallocate the time invested in learning them toward a different set of skills. This gives players greater freedom to experiment with Coen’s abilities without being tied to their existing build.
Animal lovers also have a new reason to revisit the game, as players can now pet dogs and cats through a directional system inspired by the RPG’s combat mechanics. Difficulty options have also been expanded. The previous Story difficulty has been renamed Forgiving, while a new Story mode provides additional combat assistance for those looking for an even more accessible experience.
Other changes include expanded subtitle settings, allowing players to increase the text size and enable subtitles for all dialogue. Combat has received adjustments to enemy targeting, locking on, and disengaging, while camera movements and animations have been refined during fights. Traversal has also been improved, with more responsive targeting and surface attachment when using Shadowstep and Planeshift.
PC players additionally receive an update to FrameGen technology, including dedicated settings. The Japanese Steam version also receives a change to its presentation, with blood and gore no longer censored.
With its combination of new features, accessibility options, gameplay refinements, and more than 1,100 additional improvements and fixes, Update 1.1 represents a substantial round of changes for The Blood of Dawnwalker. The update is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
