Arcade shoot ’em up Senxin Aleste is making the jump to consoles next year, with M2 confirming a March 18, 2027 release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in Japan. The console version will bring back the original arcade experience while introducing a new mode with additional weapons, character switching, and faster-paced action.
Originally released in Japanese arcades in July 2021, Senxin Aleste will include Senxin Aleste ORIGIN, a faithful recreation of the arcade game featuring M2 Gadgets and the original’s Wallpaper Mode. Players can also try Senxin Aleste BLADE, a newly developed mode that introduces the powerful Blade Missile, capable of wiping out enemies and their projectiles, alongside the ability to switch between characters freely.
A Training Mode will let players practise specific stages with their choice of ship, while the soundtrack will feature the original arcade music, new tracks composed by M2 Sound Team members Sakuoki Kudo and chibi-tech, and arranged music by Hirokazu Koshio. The opening and ending sequences will also feature full voice acting by Hana Takeda.
Senxin Aleste will be available digitally for ¥4,950, with a physical standard edition priced at ¥7,480 and a physical limited edition costing ¥11,880. PlayStation 4 will receive a digital-only release, while physical editions are planned for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
For now, the release date has only been confirmed for Japan, with no word on a Western release.
