Assemble Entertainment and solo German developer Mateo Covic, better known as Zoroarts, are bringing the chaotic physics-based action of Paddle Paddle Paddle to Nintendo Switch today, September 17. The game is priced at €4.99 and arrives on Nintendo’s console following a surprisingly successful run on PC.
Paddle Paddle Paddle has sold more than 287,000 copies on Steam since its 2025 release, with its deliberately simple premise helping turn it into an unexpected hit. The game revolves around a single-button control scheme and the increasingly difficult task of making it to the end of a wild river course without crashing, creating the kind of frustrating-but-addictive experience that can quickly turn into a repeat-play challenge.
The Nintendo Switch version is designed to retain the same straightforward gameplay while adding adapted touch controls, making the portable system a natural fit for its one-button approach. The game also features local and online co-op, allowing players to tackle the river together while attempting to avoid the various obstacles scattered throughout its handcrafted course.
Players will need to dodge obstacles, collect goodies and make use of mysterious speed blankets while navigating through different wacky biomes. Optional checkpoints can be enabled through the settings, while a speedrun timer provides an additional challenge for anyone looking to improve their times.
Paddle Paddle Paddle also supports multiple languages and has already attracted attention through YouTube videos and livestreams, with its simple mechanics and chaotic physics making it particularly suited to watching other players attempt increasingly difficult runs.
According to Covic, the Switch version remains faithful to the PC release while benefiting from additional optimization designed to make the game run more smoothly. Those improvements have also been brought back to the PC version, meaning existing players can benefit from the work done for the console release as well.
