Elden Ring has finally made its way to a Nintendo platform, with Elden Ring Tarnished Edition now available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Elden Ring Tarnished Edition brings the award-winning open-world action RPG to Nintendo’s latest console alongside its massive Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Players can explore the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow either on a TV or in handheld mode, giving Nintendo players their first opportunity to experience FromSoftware’s acclaimed RPG on the go without being limited to the original Switch hardware.

The Switch 2 edition also introduces some new additions for players to discover. Two new Starting Classes, the Heavy Knight and Idus Knight, are available alongside four new armor sets, including the equipment associated with the two new classes. Torrent has also received some attention, with three new appearance options allowing players to customize the look of their trusted Spectral Steed.

While these additions are part of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, players who already own Elden Ring on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC can access the new content separately through the Tarnished Pack. This means the new classes, armor and Torrent customization aren’t exclusive to the Switch 2 version.

The Switch 2 release also includes Shadow of the Erdtree, giving newcomers access to the full Elden Ring experience in one package. The expansion takes players beyond the Lands Between and into the Realm of Shadow, where they follow the trail of Miquella while uncovering another dark chapter of the game’s sprawling story.

Since its original release, Elden Ring has become one of FromSoftware’s biggest successes, selling more than 30 million copies worldwide. Created by Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki with contributions from A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin, the game combines FromSoftware’s challenging combat with a huge open world filled with hidden areas, dangerous enemies, optional bosses and plenty of secrets to uncover.

For Switch 2 players, Tarnished Edition offers the chance to take on that journey in a new way, whether exploring the Lands Between from the couch or venturing through its sprawling landscapes in handheld mode. With Shadow of the Erdtree included and the additional classes, equipment and Torrent options available, it also serves as a substantial version of the game for anyone yet to make the journey toward becoming Elden Lord.

A new starter guide video has also been released to help newcomers get their bearings before setting out into the Lands Between.
