Atari and Activision are teaming up for the first time in nearly 50 years with the announcement of the Atari x Activision Collection, a new physical collection bringing 39 classic Atari 2600 games to cartridge. The collection includes fan-favorite titles such as Pitfall!, River Raid, Kaboom! and H.E.R.O., with pre-orders now available through Atari’s website.

The Atari x Activision Collection will be available through three different physical offerings, giving players and collectors several ways to pick up the classic games. Individual Standard Edition cartridges featuring 12 popular Activision titles will begin shipping in November for $34.99 each.

The 39 games will also be divided across four Deluxe Collections: Treasure, Speed, Secrets and Victory. Each set will include a selection of Activision’s Atari 2600 cartridges alongside premium packaging and exclusive collectibles, including custom achievement patches and collectible pins. Each Deluxe Collection will be available for $249.99.

The first set, the Treasure Collection, will ship in November 2026 and includes 10 games such as Pitfall!, River Raid, Megamania, Chopper Command and Grand Prix. The Speed Collection will follow in Spring 2027 with another 10 games, including Enduro, H.E.R.O., The Activision Decathlon and Laser Blast.

The nine-game Secrets Collection is scheduled for Summer 2027 and will feature classics including Kaboom!, Keystone Kapers, Private Eye and Starmaster. Finally, the 10-game Victory Collection is planned for Fall 2027 and will include Pitfall II: Lost Caverns, River Raid II, Pressure Cooker and Beamrider.

For collectors looking to own the complete library, Atari is also offering the Atari x Activision Ultimate Deluxe Set. Priced at $999.96, the set includes all four Deluxe Collections along with a collectible item that will be announced at a later date.

Players who would rather purchase individual games can choose from 12 Standard Edition cartridges: Pitfall!, River Raid, Megamania, Enduro, Kaboom!, H.E.R.O., Pressure Cooker, Private Eye, River Raid II, Keystone Kapers, The Activision Decathlon and Pitfall II: Lost Caverns. Most of the cartridges will ship in November, while The Activision Decathlon and Pitfall II: Lost Caverns will arrive at a later date.

Each Standard Edition cartridge comes with packaging and a printed color manual inspired by the original releases. The cartridges are compatible with the Atari 2600+ and Atari 7800+ consoles, as well as original Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 hardware.

The collection brings together a selection of games that helped push the Atari 2600 in new directions, from the jungle exploration of Pitfall! and aerial combat of River Raid to the fast-paced gameplay of Kaboom! and H.E.R.O. It also highlights the work of Activision’s independent developers, who helped establish a new model for game development when the company was founded by former Atari programmers in 1979.

“In 1979, a group of Atari programmers set out to prove that great games could come from independent creators and ended up changing the industry forever,” said Matt Burnett, VP of Hardware at Atari. “The Atari x Activision Collection brings that legacy to life through the games themselves, giving fans an opportunity to experience, collect and preserve the work of the developers who helped establish a new model for the video game industry.”

Pre-orders for the Standard Edition cartridges, Treasure Collection and Atari x Activision Ultimate Deluxe Set are available now through Atari, with the remaining Deluxe Collections scheduled to release throughout 2027.
