KONAMI is bringing METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 to CatCon 2026 with a collection of exclusive cat-themed merchandise and a special meet-and-greet featuring social media star One Eared Uno.
The two-day CatCon event will take place at the Pasadena Convention Center in California from October 10 to 11, with KONAMI hosting a dedicated booth celebrating the upcoming release of METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2.
Fans attending the event will be able to purchase a selection of limited-edition merchandise inspired by the METAL GEAR series. Those unable to attend CatCon will also have an opportunity to purchase the merchandise through the OKS GEAR SHOP during the event dates.
METAL GEAR Meets CatCon
The merchandise lineup puts a feline spin on some of the METAL GEAR series’ most recognizable elements.
Among the items available at the KONAMI booth will be cardboard cat scratch boxes modeled after the iconic cardboard boxes used by Big Boss and Old Snake for stealth and infiltration. The lineup will also include plush pet toys and cat collars inspired by Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The merchandise ties into the upcoming launch of METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2, which is scheduled to release on August 27.
The collection brings Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker to modern platforms, while also including Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as bonus content. The collection will launch on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
One Eared Uno Joins KONAMI
KONAMI has also teamed up with Kat Curtis and her cat Uno, better known online as One Eared Uno.
Described as a “cat-fluencer,” Uno has built a following of more than 5 million people across social media. Kat and Uno are known for creating comedic videos and skits based around their daily lives, with Uno’s distinctive appearance helping him become an online favorite.
The pair recently appeared in a special METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 playthrough video, where they showed off the cardboard cat boxes that will be available at the KONAMI booth during CatCon.
Uno and Kat will also make an appearance at the event for a special meet-and-greet with fans.
The meet-and-greet is scheduled for October 10 at 2 p.m. PT at the KONAMI booth.
METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 Launches August 27
METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 is the second installment in KONAMI’s Master Collection series and is set to launch on August 27.
The collection features Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, making its first modern release since the game’s original launch in 2008, alongside Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The collection also includes Metal Gear: Ghost Babel and a selection of digital bonus material.
KONAMI has continued to promote the collection through a variety of fan events throughout 2026, including appearances at gamescom and PAX West. The company’s PAX West plans include a dedicated METAL GEAR area featuring a 10-foot-tall Gekko mech and additional merchandise inspired by the series.
With the release now just days away, KONAMI is giving METAL GEAR fans another unusual way to celebrate the return of some of the series’ most recognizable games.
And for cat owners, there is now an opportunity to put their pets through a little cardboard-box-based tactical espionage of their own.
