Virtual Boy games are about to arrive on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and you’ll need to have one of their Virtual Boy accessories that are sold through the Nintendo Store in order to play. Nintendo previously shared that there were two options to choose from; a $100 plastic accessory that closely resembles the original Virtual Boy, or a $25 cardboard model. But as it turns out there is a third option as well.
During a recent press event that allowed for hands-on with Nintendo Classics: Virtual Boy a Nintendo Treehouse staffer confirmed to Gamesbeat that the Nintendo Labo VR Toy-Con Goggles will work for Virtual Boy games on Switch. Granted, the Toy-Con Goggles will only work on the original Switch as the Switch 2 is much bigger, but for those who will be playing on the original Switch, this is a great alternative.
It is good to see Nintendo maintaining some support for Labo and considering that Nintendo Store is sold out of the Virtual Boy accessories, being able to use an older accessory that many already own is welcome.
