Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is putting the spotlight on one of the Skaven’s deadliest ambitions, with a new story trailer introducing a ruthless journey through a world of betrayal, assassination, and the pursuit of power. Released for Warhammer Day, the trailer follows Vihneek, a Skaven prisoner determined to rise above his lowly position and become an infamous Deathmaster assassin.
Developed by Old Skull Games and published by Dotemu, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster follows Vihneek after he is freed by Skiteek, an assassin from Clan Skrell. However, escaping captivity does not mean escaping servitude. Vihneek soon finds himself under the control of his supposed savior, forced to carry out deadly contracts for the clan. Each successful assassination offers a chance to climb the ranks, but rival clans and the treacherous nature of Skaven society threaten to derail his ambitions before he can achieve his goal.
The upcoming action platformer combines stealth with brutal combat, challenging players to navigate dangerous environments, set off traps, exploit their surroundings, and outmaneuver their enemies. Vihneek can slip through the shadows to avoid detection or take a more direct approach against anyone standing in his way, with enemies ranging from low-ranking Skaven to imposing Rat Ogors. Survival will require more than a sharp blade, as players must decide how best to approach the dangers lurking throughout the Skaven underworld.
The game’s dark environments lean into the decay and menace of the Warhammer universe, with shadowy passages and unsettling locations providing plenty of opportunities for an assassin to strike unseen. Its detailed visual style aims to capture a hostile world where danger lurks around every corner and even an apparent escape can lead to another form of imprisonment.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is scheduled to launch on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox in 2027.
