Dotemu and developer Old Skull Games have revealed the first gameplay for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster, a new single-player stealth-action platformer set in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe. The game is scheduled to launch for PC and consoles in 2027.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster puts players in control of an Eshin assassin as they descend into the fractured depths of the Gnaw and the dangerous underground world of the Skaven. The game draws inspiration from classic 2D action platformers and stealth-focused indie games while offering a standalone story within the Warhammer Age of Sigmar setting.

Players will explore shifting tunnels and hostile clan territories, with each area featuring its own dangers, behaviors and environmental hazards caused by corruption and warpstone instability. Stealth will play a major role, allowing players to observe their surroundings, find openings and eliminate enemies without being detected.

The game is designed around the speed and precision of an Eshin assassin, with intuitive controls and abilities tailored to the Skaven’s strengths. Players will also be able to use heightened senses and various strategies to track and eliminate their targets.

As they progress, players can collect warpstone to unlock new abilities and secret tools, giving them additional ways to approach encounters. Their assassin can also be upgraded as they complete contracts and rise through the ranks of the Eshin Clan.

The ultimate goal is to become a Deathmaster, the most feared and respected assassin within the clan. However, rising through the ranks of the notoriously conniving Skaven faction will come with its own risks and consequences.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is currently in development for PS5, Switch 2, XBOX and PC, for release in 2027

The game is now available to wishlist on Steam.
