The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is adding a new area called the Hall of Fallen Foes in its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 remake, giving players another reason to revisit Link’s journey through Hyrule. Nintendo has showcased the feature in a new overview trailer, which also highlights the remake’s enhanced presentation and additional gameplay features ahead of its November 5 launch.
The Hall of Fallen Foes houses statues of defeated monsters, allowing players to learn more about their previous encounters and take on rematch battles against bosses. While Nintendo has yet to reveal exactly where the area can be found, it offers a new activity for players to discover as they explore the reimagined adventure.
The trailer also demonstrates how the remake will let players interact with Link’s ocarina using the Nintendo Switch 2 microphone. Rather than relying exclusively on the usual in-game controls, players can hum melodies Link has learned or play them on a real instrument, prompting his ocarina to respond in-game.
Beyond these additions, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time features completely overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes with expanded dialogue, and symphonic orchestral music. The adventure follows a young Link as he leaves the Kokiri Forest, travels across Hyrule with Navi, and attempts to stop Ganondorf from plunging the kingdom into darkness.
The remake will also support ZELDA NOTES through the Nintendo Switch App on compatible smart devices, providing additional ways to engage with the adventure. Existing The Legend of Zelda amiibo figures will unlock in-game rewards, while new Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo figures are planned for 2027 and will unlock special masks.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.
