The medieval economic strategy game The Guild is getting a new name and a release date. Previously known simply as Europa 1410, the game will now be known as The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410, with Early Access set to begin on September 17, 2026.

The new title is intended to make the game’s connection to the original Europa 1400: The Guild much clearer. Rather than following the life-sim direction of The Guild 2 and The Guild 3, the remake is designed as a modern take on the economic and political strategy experience that started the series.

According to THQ Nordic, the name change comes directly from feedback received during development. While The Guild 2 and The Guild 3 introduced their own approaches to the series, including a greater emphasis on character-driven stories, romance, personal drama, and life-sim elements, Europa 1410 has always been focused on the economic foundations of the original game.

With the new name, the developers hope to make those ambitions clearer to players before they decide to add the game to their Steam wishlist.

The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 is built around business management, dynasty building, political maneuvering, and economic strategy. Players will guide their family through medieval society, making decisions that can shape their businesses, their dynasty, and the wider city around them.

Rather than focusing on directly controlling individual characters, the game takes a more traditional bird’s-eye approach. Players will instead concentrate on building their economic empire, managing their family’s interests, competing with rivals, and using political influence to secure their position.

The result is intended to capture the spirit of the original The Guild while bringing its medieval economic simulation to modern audiences.

The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 will enter Early Access on September 17, 2026. Players can wishlist the game now on Steam, while an updated demo will also offer an opportunity to get an early taste of its medieval business management, dynasty building, and political scheming.
