FromSoftware’s upcoming multiplayer action game The Duskbloods will no longer launch in 2026, with the developer confirming that the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive has been delayed to 2027. The studio says the additional development time will allow it to further refine the experience following its recent network test.

According to FromSoftware, The Duskbloods is currently in the final stages of development, but the team has decided to make further adjustments to the game’s rules and balancing before launch. The decision follows feedback from players who participated in the network test, which highlighted interest in the game’s combat, strategic depth, and player expression.

FromSoftware hopes to further develop these elements to deliver a more polished experience, with the additional time allowing the team to better realize the game’s vision beyond direct combat. The studio has apologized to players who have been waiting for the game and thanked them for their patience.

The Duskbloods was first announced in 2025 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, marking a new multiplayer-focused project from the developer behind Elden Ring and Dark Souls. The game features a PvPvE format in which players face off against both other players and environmental threats, offering a different experience from the studio’s more traditional action RPGs.

While the delay means Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait longer to experience FromSoftware’s latest project, the developer has yet to announce a more specific release window for 2027.
