SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide has officially launched on Nintendo Switch, bringing its ghostly platforming adventure to another Nintendo console. Developed by Purple Lamp and published by THQ Nordic, the latest SpongeBob game sees the iconic duo team up to deal with a supernatural crisis threatening Bikini Bottom.
The trouble begins when a feud between the Flying Dutchman and King Neptune unleashes ghostly chaos across the underwater world. Players will need to switch between SpongeBob and Patrick as they explore familiar locations, take on larger-than-life bosses, and work to restore order. The adventure also features a fully voiced story performed by the show’s original cast.
While both characters bring their own platforming abilities to the adventure, Patrick has some new tricks up his sleeve, including grappling and burrowing. Players can combine the duo’s skills to navigate the game’s environments, with locations such as Neptune’s Palace and Mount Bikini among the places to explore. Boss encounters will also pit players against recognizable characters, including the Flying Dutchman, King Neptune, and Hibernation Sandy.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is available now on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A new Nintendo Switch trailer is also available to mark the release.
