Happinet will publish Gou Hong Studio’s top-down action adventure Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray for PC via Steam in Q1 2027. The game will also be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where a new demo featuring its first three chapters will be available from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

Set in the futuristic cyberpunk metropolis of StillFlow City, Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray follows a cyber vigilante on a path of vengeance while becoming caught in a conspiracy involving the police, corporations and criminal factions. Players will have to navigate the city, uncover hidden weapons and make choices that can lead the story down different branches.

Combat is built around speed and precision, with one-hit kills putting an emphasis on survival and quick reactions. Players can dodge incoming gunfire and rockets, parry attacks back at enemies, and use electronic devices and other environmental objects to create openings or set traps. A temporal reboot device implanted in the protagonist’s body can also rewind time after a fatal injury, giving them another chance to survive.

The game combines its combat with a hand-drawn comic-inspired presentation, featuring pixel-art environments and a CRT-style visual effect during gameplay. Narrative sequences use hand-drawn comic panels to flesh out the story and connect its different sections.

The free Steam demo being offered as part of Steam Tokyo Game Show 2026 will cover the first three chapters across three regions, with dozens of combat encounters and a boss battle. Six weapons will be available, including equipment purchased from vendors and others discovered by following clues involving 10 NPCs encountered during the early story.

Happinet will also have an exclusive demo at Tokyo Game Show in Hall 9’s Indie Game Corner (E63). The booth version will feature a “10-Minute Challenge” spanning two combat-focused levels created specifically for the event. Players who clear both stages can receive an original mouse pad featuring artwork from Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray or an umbrella charm, while those who clear the first stage will receive an umbrella charm. All participants can also receive a free pocket tissue pack while supplies last.

Sa[meow]rai: Silverwing Stray will launch for PC via Steam in Q1 2027.
