Wallace and Gromit is a stop-motion claymation that has been around for many years. There are several films featuring the antics of the pair as well as a TV Show. The PowerWash Simulator – Wallace & Gromit Special Pack doesn’t really have much in the way of a story line as do the films and TV show. The only real story is that you’re able to pilot the duos newest invention called the Wash LAD. A small robot armed with a power washer. Your main means of existing is to clean up the mess that Wallace and Gromit have made in their home as well as a few of their vehicles and a couple other locations.

As with the previous special packs for PowerWash Simulator that have been released, nothing much has changed here as far as the game plays. You’re armed with a power washer with various attachments and are tasked with cleaning up Wallace and Gromits interior and exterior of their home, a couple of their vehicles, and their rocket ship.

I would say that the only major difference between this and the rest of the content released so far, is that you’re a bit smaller in size than in the previous packs. So everything seems a bit bigger than you, but you can jump onto furniture and things to compensate for the size of you as the player in comparison to the environment around you.

As a fan of the films, it’s fun to explore the house and check out the vehicles up close. The attention to detail is very nice and everything just feels fun to look at.

Graphically it’s pretty impressive. The attention to detail with the locations and all the little things, make this special pack really be a special experience. Walking around the environments really captures the show well. It makes you feel like you’re really there and a part of the action, even if you’re just cleaning up after them and the messes they make.

Performance wise, the DLC pack runs very well on the Series X. Load times are quick, and there is no slow down of any kind. This DLC pack was optimized very well for the platform.

Sound is an area with these DLC packs that are really lacking. I get that PowerWash Simulator is designed to be a relaxing experience as you clean surfaces and listen to the sound of your power washer as it sprays away the dirt and grime, but the lack of music is really a let down.

With all of the special DLC packs that have been released including this one, it’s really a missed opportunity to not have music from the franchise the DLC is lifted from. It would make it an overall more enjoyable experience and help each world you’re transported into come alive and feel truly special.

Wallace and Gromit is a wonderful franchise and captures the 80’s and 90’s very well. Fans of the series should definitely pick up this DLC pack. Even if you’re not a fan of the series, this is still a pack you should pick up if you’re looking for a reason to pickup your power washer and once again lead the fight against dirt and grime.
