Rick and Morty Season 7 on Blu-ray is a nice compliment to the previous seasons. It doesn’t offer a lot in the way of behind-the-scenes stuff like the previous seasons, but what it does offer is definitely worth checking out if you’re a Rick and Morty fan.

On this Blu-ray, you will find a couple of behind-the-scenes featurettes that complement the ten episodes that make up the season. Featurettes included here are one for each episode, one on character development, one for one of the best episodes of the season, and the last one being a featurette on the entire season itself. This season is the last season of Rick and Morty we will see for a bit so they had to make it big and they definitely delivered.

The episode featurettes dives into quite a bit of each episode. Giving you insight into the ideas behind each. It was nice to hear about what they were going for with each of the characters in the character featurette. Discussing what it was like to write the dialogue and the design ideas that went into each character.

Episode 705 as it’s referred to by the cast is the epic episode of the season that really helps to bring the entire series together. It’s because of this that it got its own featurette. The cast goes over what they wanted the episode to be, how it ties the entire series together, and how it sets the tone for the back half of the season.

When it comes to the season 7 featurette, the cast talks about what the season itself is about, the direction they wanted to take it in, and the reasons they chose the direction they did.

This season is centred around Rick and how he comes to terms with himself and the family dynamic as a whole. At one point, Rick reflects on the meaning of his existence and if he should continue to stick around. Morty at one point also comes to terms with his existence in a much more action-orientated way, which was something unexpected.

The first four episodes do a really good job building up to 705 and the last five episodes really close out the season nicely. We see Mr. Poopy Butthole having hit rock bottom and then climbing back out the hole he was in and coming back into his own. Back story on Rick and Unity is given, and we even get to meet Beth’s mother for the first time in the series.

I think that this season was really well done and is a nice way to tide fans over until we get the eighth season sometime in 2025. If you’re looking to finish the series so far, want a deep dive into Rick, or just want to get your Rick and Morty fix, you will definitely want to pick up Rick and Morty Season 7 on Blu-ray.
