Nintendo is giving a couple more Mushroom Kingdom favorites their own chance to interact with players, as Hello Luigi and Hello Peach have now launched on Nintendo Switch. Both apps are available as free digital downloads through the Nintendo eShop.

The two new apps are part of Nintendo’s My Mario initiative, which is aimed primarily at young children and their parents. Following the same basic idea as Hello Mario and Hello Yoshi, Hello Luigi and Hello Peach let players interact directly with the characters by touching, pulling, stretching, poking, and spinning their faces to trigger different reactions.

There is a little more going on than simply messing around with Luigi and Peach’s faces, too. Players can use the question block menu to make familiar Mario elements appear alongside the characters, including items such as Super Mushrooms and Super Stars, as well as pipes and enemies. There is also a peekaboo feature that can bring Boo into the fun.

One of the more interesting touches is the built-in break system. After playing for a while, Luigi or Peach will become tired and fall asleep, preventing players from continuing to interact with them. Nintendo says the feature is designed to give children an opportunity to take a break and help parents manage screen time, although it can also be disabled through the app’s settings.

Both apps can also be played offline once downloaded, so an internet connection isn’t required for the actual experience. Hello Luigi and Hello Peach are now available for free on Nintendo Switch, adding two more familiar faces to Nintendo’s growing collection of My Mario experiences.
