Nintendo Ending Twitter/X Integration on Switch

1. The function to post screen photos and videos to X (formerly Twitter) from “Albums” in the HOME menu will no longer be available.

• You will still be able to use the ability to post screen photos and videos to Facebook, but the service may be discontinued in the future. Thank you for your understanding.
• You will also not be able to use the function to post screen photos from “Albums” in the HOME menu to “Smaplus” in the smartphone app “Nintendo Switch Online”.

2. In Splatoon 3, the following effects will be affected:

• When posting from the post in the square, the data will be sent directly to Nintendo’s servers instead of posting to X (formerly Twitter) or Facebook. With this change, you don’t need to have an X (formerly Twitter) or Facebook account to post, but images posted by people under the age of 13 will not appear on other customers’ screens.
• The created post image will be duplicated in “Album” in the HOME menu. Images duplicated in the “Album” can be transferred to a smartphone, tablet, or PC.

3. In Splatoon 2, the following effects will be affected:

• You will not be able to post to X (formerly Twitter) from the post in the square.
• The characters that appear in the square and the posts that are displayed will be replaced with the data prepared in advance in the game software.

4. You will not be able to use the SNS friend recommendation function in the friend recommendation function (“You may be able to become a friend?”) in “My Page” in the HOME menu.

• You can still use the smartphone app, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U Friend Recommendation.
