MachHabaneroGames and Kodansha Creators’ Lab have announced that Mythmon: Mythic Monsters, a monster-taming hack-and-slash auto-battler, will launch for PC via Steam on Monday, September 7, 2026, with language options in English and Japanese.
Mythmon: Mythic Monsters tasks players with declaring war on the Demon Lord by leading a team of creatures known as Mythmon. Commanders will recruit five fighters from a roster of 30 to form a squad, then strategize battle plans and send their team into combat, where powers, positioning, and instincts determine the outcome.
Each Mythmon species can be grown into its signature talents, with abilities evolving through more than 10 elemental status effects spanning fire, ice, wind, and other elements.
Pre-battle preparation plays a central role in the game’s strategy. Players can position ranged specialists in the Backline, keep glass cannons protected behind sturdy tanks and aggro warriors in the Frontline to absorb incoming blows and draw attention away from lower-HP teammates, and place versatile Mythmon in the Mid-Guard position for flexible swing strategies.
Commanders can also examine opponents’ loadouts before battle, choosing whether to aggressively plunder powerful gear for tide-turning items or play defensively and strike only at opportune moments. Losses come at a cost, however, as defeated squads surrender equipment to the Demon Lord’s forces.
Defeating the Demon Lord doesn’t mark the end of the challenge. Doing so unlocks endgame dungeons that test players’ skills further, requiring flawless pre-battle formations to survive clashes with endless waves of advanced enemies.
