Eidos-Montréal and Marvel Games are bringing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy to Nintendo Switch 2 this November with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition, a new version of the acclaimed superhero adventure featuring exclusive content and new control options.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5, 2026, priced at $39.99. Alongside the complete base game and previously released digital content, the new edition introduces five exclusive outfits inspired by 1980s glam rock, giving Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot some appropriately flashy new looks.
The Switch 2 version also takes advantage of the console’s unique features. Players can use the system’s built-in mouse functionality for menus and aiming, while gyro controls can be used to steer the Milano through space and control Peter Quill during sliding and zero-gravity sequences. The game will support TV, Tabletop, and Handheld modes.
“We poured a lot of love into these five characters, and the response from players confirmed they felt it too. The Encore Edition is our way of giving the Guardians one more night on stage, this time on Nintendo Switch 2,” said Jean-François Dugas, Studio Creative Director at Eidos-Montréal.
Eidos-Montréal’s Inès Bruckner added that the Switch 2 version was developed internally by the studio, with the team aiming to make the experience feel equally at home whether played on a TV or in handheld mode. The new outfits are also designed around the same glam rock era that inspired Star-Lord’s band and the game’s soundtrack.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy puts players in control of Star-Lord as he leads the Guardians through a cosmic adventure filled with combat, exploration, conversations, new worlds, and plenty of familiar Marvel characters. Players can upgrade the Guardians, discover 50 outfits, and listen to a soundtrack featuring more than 30 classic ’80s songs along the way.
