Indie developer Tenkarider and publisher Tambù Digital have launched Lostbound on PC via Steam, putting players in a constantly changing world where staying alive means thinking carefully about every step. The action-adventure roguelite is built around a particularly dangerous problem: the ground behind you is disappearing, and something is responsible.
That something is The Hand, a mysterious force that relentlessly follows the player while consuming the world in its wake. In Lostbound, retracing your route too many times can turn previously safe ground into a dead end, forcing players to constantly consider where they are going and whether the path they are taking will still be there when they need to escape.
This makes exploration a matter of strategy rather than simply uncovering everything on the map. Players can venture into dungeons, search for valuable artifacts and take risks in pursuit of stronger builds, but spending too much time exploring can be just as dangerous as choosing the wrong route. When night falls, The Hand emerges to hunt the player through the darkness, adding another layer of pressure to each run.
Artifacts found throughout the world can dramatically change how each attempt plays out, allowing players to experiment with different combinations of abilities and approaches to survival. Meanwhile, randomly generated worlds and artifact placements ensure that routes and opportunities change between runs, meaning players will need to adapt rather than rely on a single strategy.
Failure is ultimately part of the process, with each attempt providing new information about the world and another opportunity to push further into the cursed landscape. The goal is not simply to survive one journey, but to learn how to manage the constantly shrinking world while deciding when it is worth taking another risk.
Lostbound is now available on PC via Steam for $6.99 / €6.99 / £6.99. A 30% launch discount is currently available, and a free demo remains available for players who want to try the game before purchasing it.
