Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts have brought It Takes Two to Nintendo Switch 2, giving players another way to experience the award-winning co-op adventure. Developed in partnership with Turn Me Up Games, the new version introduces cross-platform multiplayer alongside the return of the free Friend’s Pass, allowing players to team up without both needing to purchase the game.

With the Friend’s Pass, players can invite a friend to join their adventure for free, provided one player owns the full game and the other installs the Friend’s Pass free trial. Cross-platform play is supported between Nintendo Switch 2, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, while GameShare also allows players to connect with Nintendo Switch users.

Originally released in 2021, It Takes Two follows Cody and May, a couple whose relationship troubles take a fantastical turn when a magic spell transforms them into dolls. Forced to work together, the pair must navigate a constantly changing world filled with imaginative challenges as they attempt to repair their fractured relationship.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version is available now for $39.99. Players who already own the Nintendo Switch version can also upgrade to the new edition for free in eligible regions, provided they meet the offer’s requirements. The upgrade offer is not available in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, or Taiwan.

It Takes Two is also available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch OLED, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
