Snako Production and Infini Fun have announced that Golden Swirl, a dark fantasy game that blends deckbuilding with real-time action combat, is now available on Steam for $19.99 / €20.49 / £17.75. The game is also receiving a 20% launch discount for its first 14 days.

Rather than relying on traditional turn-based card battles, Golden Swirl puts players directly in control of their character as they dodge incoming attacks, reposition around enemies, and look for the right opportunities to play their cards. Timing is key, with each card allowing players to adjust their attack vectors and react to the constantly shifting battlefield.

Players can choose between four characters, each featuring their own traits, starting relics, and card pools. More than 120 cards and 100 relics can be combined to create different builds, while Card Modifiers provide another layer of customization by allowing individual cards to be altered and refined. Gear and additional upgrades further expand the possibilities for creating builds suited to different playstyles.

Golden Swirl features five distinct Acts, each leading into procedurally generated dungeons filled with dangerous enemies and unusual characters. Merchants, swordsmen, and other NPCs can offer more than simple interactions, with player decisions influencing the game’s Golden Will system. As the Golden Will changes, it can alter combat rewards, resource progression, NPC appearances, available trades, and even the cards players can acquire.

Those choices can also come with a cost. More powerful cards may carry negative side effects, forcing players to consider how far they are willing to push their luck while building their deck.

The game’s dark fantasy setting centres around the aftermath of the “Great Dreamer” invading the realm. With the gods fallen and the Black Moon transformed into a colossal Swirl threatening to consume everything, players take on the role of the Nameless One, the final glimmer of hope standing between the world and an apocalyptic end.
