NACON and Appeal Studios are pleased to share two new videos about the co-op action-adventure game Gangs of Sherwood. Appeal Studios’ Sven Panes Robelo, Game Designer, Raphaël Villegas, Concept Artist, and Andrea Di Stefano, Game Director have revealed new information about the combat system and enemies in the game. As a reminder, Gangs of Sherwood will be available on 19 October on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store).
A deep and dynamic combat system
Right from the concept phase, the objective for the combat system has been to give players the feeling that they are controlling legendary heroes in dynamic and intense action phases. The game has unique heroes with complementary and distinct abilities, so players can progress on their own or create impressive synergies with others. Each character represents an archetype with special abilities and attacks: as an archer, for example, Robin Hood has several types of arrows for ranged attacks, whereas Friar Tuck is a tank-type character, capable not only of charging up his attacks to inflict more damage but also of creating a shield to protect his allies. In combat, the heroes can also use their ‘Rebel Instinct’, a special mode that temporarily reinforces their abilities. Players can also equip each character with fragments that grant different types of powers, such as Regeneration and Paralysis.
An impressive variety of enemies and bosses
Gangs of Sherwood is a co-operative action-adventure game for 1 to 4 players with fast-paced gameplay and high replay value in a reimagined world based on the legend of Robin Hood. Exploiting the powers of the Philosopher’s Stone, the Sheriff of Nottingham’s armies have built up untold power and are oppressing the people of England more than ever. In a unique science-fantasy version of the Robin Hood legend, the game features explosive combat, spectacular combos, and co-op gameplay for fans of epic battles and challenges in stunning environments.
