Funko Fusion is a game that we previously covered here at The Otaku Authority. So with Funko Fusion Deluxe Edition, we will focus this review specifically on the DLC side of this version of the game. So this will in effect be a mini review. The Deluxe Edition of the game comes with The Office Cameo Pack as well as additional characters you can play as from the start of the game.

The Office Cameo Pack has you playing as the main characters from the show and going through one single level based on the show. This single level is a love letter to the show and the characters and weapons you’re given are really fun to play with throughout this level and the rest of the game.In addition to the Office Cameo Pack, you get access to three Wicked Movie packs, the Universal Monsters Pack, and two Jurassic World Rebirth Packs.

This is quite a bit of paid DLC content, but it’s not all of the DLC that this game has to offer. You see, what they did was they placed several additional DLC packs that were announced with this edition behind a pay wall. So along with this edition, you have The Walking Dead Pack featuring Michonne and Rick Grimes, and the Mega Man Pack.

So there is a lot of DLC that is locked behind a pay wall. You have the option to pay for each DLC pack separately for $9.99 ($5 per character) or you can pay for a bundle. You can pay $39.99 and get the base game and the DLC pack you want. Yeah you read that right, you’re not getting the Deluxe Edition plus the desired bundle, you get the base game for that price with the DLC pack you want.

I really do appreciate what Funko Fusion does when it comes to bringing all of these characters and worlds together. It’s a really fun game to sit down with and play through. Also the addition of online multiplayer is a nice touch, but to call this the Deluxe Edition of the game is rather deceiving.

I will give the devs props for featuring all the previous free DLC, some of this paid DLC, and the inclusion of previous pre-order bonuses included. They even gave us the Colonel Sanders DLC that was a very limited release originally. So I really appreciate being given access to those additional characters and the character packs that we do have with this Deluxe Edition.

What I don’t like is the additional DLC behind a pay wall. I mean I got this thinking I was going to be able to blast my way through Jurassic Park as Dr Wiley. Only to find that if I wanted to play as that character, I would have to shell out an additional $9.99. If you’re going to advertise DLC with the Deluxe Edition, it should be included. It shouldn’t be an additional amount on top of it.

Another thing I wanted to mention was the singular level you get with the Deluxe Edition. I mean this could have been more than one level. This could have been a couple of levels of The Office ( I am sure they could have come up with something) but then also give us a couple levels for the Universal Monsters Pack and the Wicked Packs. They could have even come up with something to do with a couple of levels focused on the Jurassic World Rebirth characters. But instead of this giant expansion, we got a single level based on The Office and a good amount of playable characters.

In conclusion, would I recommend picking up the Deluxe Edition of Funko Fusion? Well if you’re a fan of the series and find that one of the characters you really want to play is included as free content with the purchase, then yes, I would totally suggest purchasing this version of the game. I would also suggest it if you haven’t yet gotten the game and want the best experience when it comes to Funko Fusion.

If you’re someone that already purchased Funko Fusion, you can actually save some money when upgrading to the Deluxe Edition. I would say just do your research before purchasing this game as it can be a bit deceiving.
